The beautiful Erbar Grotesk was designed by Jakob Erbar in the 1920s.

Erbar was published by the type foundry Ludwig & Mayer in Frankfurt am Main and goes back to Lichte Fette Grotesk, also designed by Ludwig Erbar in 1924. As is the case with many typefaces, we have lost cuts in the course of digitisation and they only exist in lead type.

A very nice example of a successful type specimen is also the typespecimen of Erbar Grotesk.
